Mikal Bridges Signs Contract Extension
Four-Year, $90 Million Deal
With Phoenix Suns
Mikal Bridges has agreed to a four-year, $90 million contract extension with the Phoenix Suns, according to his agents Sam Goldfeder and Jordan Bertoldo of Klutch Sports Group.
Bridges, 26, was a key contributor for the Suns last season, averaging 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He shot 51.4% from the field and 41.3% from three-point range.
The Suns acquired Bridges from the Philadelphia 76ers in 2018 as part of the trade that sent Trevor Ariza to Philadelphia. Bridges has since become one of the most consistent and reliable players on the Suns' roster.
The signing of Bridges to a contract extension is a significant move for the Suns, who are looking to build on their success from last season. The Suns reached the NBA Finals in 2021 but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games.
With Bridges under contract for the next four years, the Suns now have a core of young players that they can build around. Bridges, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and Cam Johnson are all under 27 years old and have shown that they can compete at a high level.
The Suns are hoping that this young core can help them win their first NBA championship in franchise history.
