Early Life and Education

Binyamin Netanyahu, also known as Bibi, was born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, Israel. His mother, Tzila, was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Israel from Poland. Netanyahu's father, Benzion, was a historian who specialized in Sephardic and Marrano history.

Netanyahu studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture and an MBA. He later served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a commander in the Sayeret Matkal special forces unit.

Political Career

Netanyahu began his political career in 1988 when he was elected to the Knesset, Israel's parliament, on behalf of the Likud party. He served in various ministerial positions in the governments of Yitzhak Shamir and Ehud Barak.

Prime Minister
